Need help with jag cichlid

Hey Guys had my jag about two months and he’s about 3.5 - 4 inches and was wondering if you guys could help sex him

I am going to say female P. Managuense.
Males have dark/ a lot more spotting on the gill plates and under the mouth as well as over darker colouration

Thats a good looking fish. Can't help with the gender, but I will say I'm interested in what that parachromis would look like with a dark substrate and background.

The background might work well...maybe a darker background with the light sand. I think the jag would pop its dark colors more, make it easier to tell gender.

Judging from the picture of the vent, looks female. A nice colorful one too. But it looks young still so give it more time to grow and maybe it would be easier to tell.

99% sure male. Females have lines of spots down the side, I can see the dark spots on lower jaw wanting to come out but your substrate is too light. Put him in a tank with dark substrate and he’ll look good
