stats:

55g tank.: 18 rummynose. 2 angelfish. 7 kuhli loaches. 1 bristlenose pleco. 2 honduran red points
20g long: 2 german blue rams. 1 honey sunset gourami. 18 neon tetras

both tanks fully matured.

so way long ago, when i bought my HRP's, i actually bought three. 2 females, 1 male. this one female never really got much color (looked icey blue, minimal lines or color) and never got too big--i believe i had adopted a bad seed. the male, and second female absolutely flourished. and bred, all the time. seemed like twice a month. they were inseparable. after 3-4 months, the weak female finally passed away for unknown causes. probably too much stress, or was doomed from the start of birth. the pair kept pumping eggs.

well, as of a month ago, i noticed the female had a nipped tail. and she only hangs out at the back of the heater, behind the filter, or behind my power jet. they no longer breed, and they stay apart from eachother. after seeing the nipped tail, i removed her and put her in my 20g long for about a week. all is for the most part fine. tail grew back, colors became brighter (they're very dark in the 55, im assuming due to stress) and she was swimming around like nobodys business. problem is; i think its slightly too aggressive for the 20. the rams appeared to be getting a bit stressed, and i know neons are sensitive, so it could only take another half dozen "here i come!!!!" attempts from the female to weaken the neons health.so i put her back in the 55, again. and now shes back to hiding.

what do i do from here? i would HATE to part with any of my beautiful fish. but i just want happiness. should i get a second female? so its a total of 3 hrp in my 55? or after X amount of time, will that third wheel eventually get picked off, stressed out, and die? any help would be appreciated, and hopefully quickly so i can go to my LFS on my day off and do something.
