My house
I tried to plant my Oscar tank. Not with much just one Dwarf tiger lily. I thought that it might end up okay because I got my O when he was super tiny and thought that if he grew with plants about he might not be so prone to ripping them apart.

Worse yet I put some rocks in the tank that are a bit abrasive. When I was feeding my O ghost shrimps I noticed that he scratched the top of his head on one of the rocks. SO, I took the all the rocks out and now my tank only has the Lilly which I am positive my O will slowly destroy, a mat of java moss I have been storing in there and one small piece of driftwood.

It is painfully obvious to me now that I will be unable to keep any plants that are not tied onto a piece of wood. With that in mind, my mind is at a blank as to how to keep my tank that will be both a safe and beautiful home for my O.

I would appreciate any suggestions or pointers.

Also, Photos of your Oscar tanks would also be greatly appreciated.

Oscars are naturally like this. Unfortunately you have to live with how he likes the tank to look. The only thing you might have some luck with is, heavy rocks and wood with some realistic looking fake plants tied to them.

Here's a great example of how JCardona used heavy rocks and wood to make an amazing display. You might want to try something similar.

u can always get smooth rocks. In rivers sometimes there are this perfectly oval or round and a little flat sort of rocks and you can also find them at stores to tie down your plants. Either that or go with wat O love in there habitat. good luck :D :stingray:
lol love this pic :hitting:

Oh, I have fully accepted the fact that I will not be able to grow most all plants with him but I have trouble imagining how to make it look good with just stone and driftwood.

So, like I said, photos would be great to get my mind working on his new home. I feel a bit bad about having the tank more or less clear of everything as my Synodotis needs a hide.

Please, help! Your photos would be a lifesaver.
