Well I have this...

It got clogged with plant leaves and whatnot.. so I cut the bottom out of the house adapter out..

Now.. it does not work at all.. Well, it will fill my tanks up, but it will not start the siphon..

So i'm assuming cutting the bottom out caused this, because it worked perfectly a couple days ago..
Can anyone confirm that that is why? Or does anyone have any other ideas? Suggestions?

Thankss

if you are trying to use the faucet to start a siphon then i guess you broke that part of it. but i dont see why you still cant start a gravity siphon.

Yes I was using the faucet to start it.. How would I go about starting a gravity siphon on a 25ft long hose?

what i do is dip the vac tube in the water and then lift it up straight to let the water drain to the other end of the hose, once that starts i dip the vac end back into the water still pointing up so it fills with water and the air escapes up. as the previous water is heading down the tube, this is enough to start the siphon withhout having to suck water with my mouth on the exit end.

Will I be able to just leave the other end connected to the faucet?

i guess, the water will drain into your sink

Just a little FYI, thanks to you, my water is being siphoned assssssss I type this :)

but I still would like to know how I can fix this because I used to be able to start it with the hose faucet right outside my window, and leave the faucet running and get some serious suction power haha

Just a new adapter shoould be rather cheaap

you can try reconnecting it and using silicone to seal it maybe.

That'd prolly be realllly difficult and probably completely plug it.. it just had like little sides on it that connected it to the thing or whatever.. siliconing those back into place would just plug it all
