Um go to petsmart $1/gal sale :)
Edit: If there is any petsmart in your location :l

A 5 foot tank would be what, around 120 gallons maybe? 60 African Cichlids sounds fairly overstocked already. If they've been established for a year then it's no wonder they attack any new fish that gets introduced. There isn't really enough territory to go around as it is, they aren't gonna want to share any more. :)

I'd say your options are get a new tank for the flowerhorn, or take the flowerhorn back. It's just gonna get killed if you keep it in there.

If selling off the Africans is an option, you could do that, but I'd drop their population density down to less than 10 of the 60. I'd also take all of them out for a day or so, rearrange the tank to break up any current territories, and let the flowerhorn establish a spot before you put any africans back in.
