Need help with my Red hooks

I picked up 3 red hook silver dollars a couple of weeks ago and I'm a little confused. The larger of the 3 is noticeably darker and always chases the smaller 2 around. I thought they were supposed to be peaceful schooling fish. Can someone help?

I believe you need more to successfuly school, and a size difference isn't gonna help. Not 100% tho.

I was planning on picking up 2 or 3 more anyway but it was really the color difference that disturbed me. I was hoping i Didn't have a "red hook" piranha lol

They do well in schools, however 3 is not enough of a school to spread the aggressive nature around. I would get at least 3-5 more if your tank can handle them because they can get quite big. The darker one is probably the dominant one of the bunch.

Yes, they usually shoal with other silver dollars. Red hooks usually are the more aggressive of the sd's but that usually isn't much.

What size tank is that? Looks like 2' wide
