I cannot get him to eat, I've had him for a month and in that month hes eaten only 1 small minnow, and 1 cricket. I stopped doing feeder fish because I lost a lot of my fish from feeder related infections, I've been trying crickets but for the past 2 weeks he had 1. I tried cutting up shrimp and have had no luck. He's 6 inches long. Any suggestions? I'd really like to avoid feeders.

Feeders is the main diet of a NN Gar. I am feeding mine feeders, earthworms, mealworms, and crickets. Feeders would be your best choice, but feel free to try any of the ones that I just listed.

Do they need to be larger crickets because the ones I've tried aren't that large and he just ignores them.
