need help with new/used eheim 2229

so i just picked this up and am wondering what media is inside. im guessing it was used on saltwater but im really not sure. im putting it on my 75 gal freshwater.

That is EhfiSubstrat, a biological media made by Eheim. You should have all three trays filled with this media as your filter is a biological wet/dry ONLY. Here is the manual if you need it http://www.eheim.de/eheim/pdf/en/anleitungen/afilter/wet_dry_filter_2227_2229_2327_2329.pdf.

P.S. Just clean the media well in tap water to help flush any saltwater residue off. Then let it soak in a clean pail with tapwater & a dechlorinator product if your tapwater has chlorine or chloramine added from the water company.

Just continue reading down the pages. The manuals come in multiple languages, you just have to find the English section, it starts on page 19.
