180 gal, 10" jade goby, 2x 5" oscars, common pleco. all the fish are the best of friends until the lights go out, then the goby shoots around the tank like a fat torpedo serial killer trying to kill the oscars... this lasts for about two hours until he gets tired or bored and goes into his cave. theres no way that the oscars could be looked at as food because they are not even close to being able to fit in his mouth.. ive tried turning on my led moonlights and it doesnt help. gobys been in tbe tank about a year and oscars about 2 months... any ideas? heres the goby

can you make some thin hides that the oscars can fit into and the goby can't? lean something against the back glass maybe.

In nature, gobys prey upon cichlids, among others.
Although your oscars are a bit large for your goby to swallow, that doesn't stop its natural instinct.
While snorkeling in Mexico, I have watched gobys stalking and eating young Jack Dempseys.

The goby doesnt know the Os wont fit in his mouth. Eventually he may catch one, wont be able to eat it but may kill it. Move the Os to another tank until they are bigger.

and it seems ive solved my own problem... if i hold off on my last feeding of the day until late, it seems to keep the goby happy for the night.. the oscars are growing at a ridiculous rate from the massivore too i feel like i can notice growth day to day haha

first 8 to 11 months they grow very fast. easy 10" by the twelfth if not more. after they slow way down, Oscar needs some veggies, not strait protein, i would suggest breaking him on a good quality pellet. to much protein will really shorten there life span.

ok, last tank done, the 175g, and skill saw lessons for the youngest boy, see pole still around, Question pole, you ever use a skill saw? ask your pops. good thing to know.
