just bought oscar fish yesterday. drive it home for about 30min. then the next day, it just lays on the bottom of the tank and looks motionless. but it always stood its dorsal fins when i come near it. is this normal for oscars when they are stressed out?
as u can see on the image,

He could just be stressed out from being netted & bagged, the traveling, give him some time to recover. He should be fine.

really? have ure fish been in this situation before? i was hoping someone would say tht. as u can see, it's dorsal fins always raised. :) should i just leave him alone until it recovers?

oscars are dramaqueens and sometimes they just lay down i have had several and everyone of them i have walked in the room and caught laying flat on their side on the bottom just chillin then see me and get up and swim around if he didn't respond with his dorsal when he saw you then i'd be worried

yup. thanks though for ure reply. it is now swimming, and seems tht it's getting used to its surroundings. it even responds to my finger when touch the glass. a good sign of it. :D

Oscars are not hybrids and threads pertaining to them belong in the CA/SA section. I moved your thread about this fish into CA/SA section yesterday. Please try to post in the correct section going foward. I will move this to the correct section. Thank you.
