I was planning on making a plywood corner tank. I wanted to curve some acyrlic as the viewing window, and make an "L" with the plywood. I'm experienced in wood working so that's not an issue. My concern is lining the plywood. I have found some two part epoxy on amazon, but I would love some suggestions...what works best. I would prefer to have a blue background. Also, would I be able to mix gravel/sand into the epoxy to give a more realistic lake bed?
so here's what I got:
2 inch plywood (1 inch ply glued together)
1/4 acrylic cast

The dimensions I want would be 33" long and wide and the bow front would be a little under 52 inches. The height would be 16 inches.

Please give me your thoughts. Thanks

2 inches of plywood is a little over kill for a 16 inch tall tank, but what every you want it isn't going to hurt anything. Personally I would avoid adding sand and especially gravel to your epoxy. That would make a possible leak in the future more likely. With the grit in the finish a rock could more easily gab a hold and brake through. If your wanting a realistic back ground it is best to make one separately and attach it to your tank. I'm a fan of sweetwater epoxy myself.
