I was at a LFS and saw a very coold mix of 2 fish I already have. It was labeled as an African clown knife...And sure enough, it looked like an african knife, the mouth and no hump behind the eyes. BUT it was lighter and bronze colored with markings resembling spots, and they all had dorsal fins, the little nub like a clown knife.

It looked like an african and a clown bread making these guys. I might just get one to see what it turns out like. Only $10.99 :D

I found it. It is an Asian knife fish, Notopterus notopterus. Like I said, like an Africa with touches of clown...Only gets to 14" too, getting one this week!

cool, got an 11incher myself. believe it or not, this guy was so territorial and aggressive that it kicked the **** outta my 15" clown knife and I had to take him outta the main tank.

The fish I am planning on getting is smaller than any of my current African Knifes. It will be going into the little fish tank (50 long) at first-the only fish it might mess with is the BGK that will be about the same size.

Everything else in the tank is either too fast or can fend for itself(4 tinfoils, a small bala , blue gourami, 5 scissortail rasboras and 2 pleco's) I wanted to move my clown knife into this tank, but right now the scissortails would be considered bite sized and the clown is starting to get comfortable in his new home..

Saw the GCK eat for the first time last night!! WOOHOO!

It's Notopterus Notopterus. It's actually an Asian Knife. One of the more aggressive Knives you can get. They don't grow too large, but have plenty of attitude.

^ yup. Be aware of their actions, they are very rough with other fish.
