Hello everyone, I am getting a 500 gal 96", 32", 36". I have a clown knife and an ornate bichir growing out in a 125 so those will go to the 500 gal. Any tank mate ideas? I was thinking an arowana and a tiger shovelnose catfish but open to suggestions

Let's get the ideas flowing! I also could use some ideas for my 11'x3'x3'

I'm thinking:
A pair of fire eels
Silver dollars
Male BD ray
Aro(Undecided on 1, or 2, or what kind)
1 BGK
1 pair carpintis (again, idk here lol)
A pleco or 2

I love clown loaches in anything but don't see them doing well here unless they're a healthy size and we all know how long that takes lol

Sorry not clown loach. A clown knife fish. I have one thats small now but once it grows up it will go to the 500 gal

I was referring to Zkris28.

By the way, although I haven't kept them, I kind of doubt a 1892 liter is big enough for a clown knife. Yours is 81cm wide, while clown knives get to 90+cm and are also very inflexible.

Others might disagree, but my opinon, no. I feel a tank needs to be (minimum) 2.5-3x the width of a fish, which is especially important for inflexible fish because of the inflexiblity.
So I personally wouldn't do any smaller than 225-270cm for an inflexible fish the size of the clown knife. The 2.44m length of a 1892 liter is also very limiting for a 90cm fish in my opinion.
