hey guys just a quick question here..i was thinking 8 danios and 5 tetras in a 24gal tank?! will it be crammed in there? please help!

(all about 1 1/2")

zebra danios are really active zippy fish, I find I like them best in a school of their own or they tend to create traffic jams and look chaotic in smaller tanks.

If it were me I would do either 8-10 danios or 8-10 tetras and a small group of 4 to 6 cories on the bottom, or alternately a group of small loaches to balance out the top and bottom of the tank.

That said my orange von rio tetras seem to stick to the bottom levels of the tank more than the top, so maybe 8 danios and 4 of those would work.

so ur saying 8 danios and 4 tetras? cause i already got 2 black skirts cycling the tank right now..and what about loaches u said? i didnt get that part sorry :/

If you do loaches, get a species that remains relatively small. Maybe yoyos? Those max at 4" or 5" as opposed to the 16" clowns

Check out some Apistogramma's too (South American Dwarf Cichlids) They're peaceful and some are quite beautiful.

Pics in order:
