i just got a sword plant for my tank...how do i introduce it to the tank...its just one plant ...i have it in a bag right now in my lap because i need help how to put it in the tank like do i clean it or do something special ?

No, usually one wouldnt clean it off unless you think it may have snails or something other you dont want introduced to your tank. If thats the case, just rinse it off in the sink and plant in your substrate.

not an expert but arent u just suppose to drop it in the tank? its not a fish its not gonna get ph shock. but i have heard that ur suppose to rinse it off to get rid of debris n snails

I allways do the bleach dip method when intruducing new plants if they come from a lfs or other untrustworthy place. They can carry disease just like a feeder fish or anything else. And snails suck really bad.

You take 1 part bleach to 20 parts water and dip the plant in there for 15-20 seconds. And it will kill off any diseases or snails that may be on the plant.

After you dip it rinse it in the sink for a moment and then dip it in water that has a 5x strength dose of dechloranator.

Then plant it in your tank with all the roots under your substrate and the crown of the root ball above the substrate.

also if i have snails could clown loaches eat them and do plants usually have diseases

the bleach dip is excellent advice . . . just use regular plain bleach, but remember to dilute it as recommended Hybridtheory16 (above) . . . he basically told you exactly what you need to do

and yes, plants may carry disease, especially if they were kept with fish in their tanks . . . even it's from a trusted source, it is better safe than sorry
