Hi everyone,

So I was very fortunate to pick up this 300 gallon tank from my kind neighbor at work.

The dimensions are 72x40x24.

I would prefer to have a longer tank with a better floor plan but I cannot be picky for a 300 gallon at no cost.

I have never had a 300 gallon and never had a tank that is 40" tall!

The plan was to transfer my Frontosa, Geophagus, Roseline sharks, and tigrinus from my 150 gallon to this 300 gallon.

Was wondering if you guys could post some examples and/or suggestions of how I can scape it to maximize floor space and yet give the cichlids enough room to spread the aggression.

Also, want could I do to allow the Cichlids use all height of tank and not just use the lower half of it since it is so tall?

Thanks in advance guys!

LOTS of hiding spaces. Treat the bottom like you are setting up a Mbuna cichlid tank - lots of rocks Andy caves for the fish to hide in

Thts gonna be a pain to clean I just got a 210 30inch tall and its a pain to get to the bottom.
Some of ur fish will go to the top of the tank. The frontosas and roseline sharks should stay more at the top.

Love the tall tanks! I would kill for that one lol.

I would suggest hanging decor from the top to maximize floor space. Here is how i set up my recent plywood build with 33" height.

The cover in the top of the tank encourages activity there while leaving plenty of space for larger bottom feeders.

That tank is sweet. Ive been planning a 72x26x36 acrylic build for a little while now. If you arent happy with that thing send it my way and save me the trouble hah!
