hey my friends and i have had some turtles over the last couple years and i always like to share advice when asked but this one has me stumped. ive never had anything like this happen to me before, so i dont know.but his turtles tank has what appears to be little larva or worms in it. they are on the rocks, his turtles cave, everywhere.he didnt know they werre alive untill i saw one moving.he thought it was just algae. im going to help clean them out but i dont want to start anything unless i know what they are. and how to fix it. im worried they are harmful to the turtle. any advice? i already yelled at him for having his turtle in such a dirty tank in the first place. its filtered and the water is clear. (third pic) gunk is built up around his cave as its as wide as the tank and seldom gets moved. but that will all be better for that turtle as soon as i get some info. thanks in advance.

those are the little squiggly things that appear from time to time in my tank. As far as I know, they are harmless and just mean that you need to scrub off some algae ad do a good water change. I don't think it is anything to worry about.

The first pic looks similar to what I see in my turt tub. Somtimes under driftwood or other stationary objects. I agree...scrub it off and do a good water change.

ok thats a relief. i thought his turtle had worms or something. ok so ill help him get the tank cleaned up and ill be sure to bring my trusty algae scrubber. thanks guys

I dont know if this helps but I notice the same thing happening when gnats start to appear so I then up the cleaning and it goes away. Good luck!

That person is lucky to have you as a friend. Lol My friends and family dont care about my interest in the aquatic world.
