I know I screwed up now,so i need some help to fix it. I changed my substrate, bio balls and filter media in my eheim 2217 canister filter and I am going to assume that i screwed up my cycle, because up to yhat point my ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels were all good. Now my ammonia level is 2.0, my nitrites are good at zero, and my nitrates are only 10. Any advise to get rid of my ammonia and increase my nitrates would be welcome. Quite a change in the hobby since I was last involved about 20 years ago. But thanks to this site learning is much easier than it was before.

72 gal. bow faced tank

1 7" CK
1 3" Parrot

2 2.5" NTT'S

Looking to upgrade as I type.I am pretty sure size of tank is becoming a problem.

If you still have any of the old filter media, I'd put it back in. You're essentially starting brand new with an uncycled tank and a huge bioload. Do water changes to keep your levels in check, and dose the tank with Prime.

I agree. Your tank is going through another cycle. You best bet is to keep up the water changes until the biological media catches up.

You should never replace your bio media even if the company tels you to its a scam ,just rinse it with tank water.

Agree 100%
Water changes to control nitrates and Prime, or such to help with ammonia control.
If any of the old gravel, bio balls are still handy, bagging and hanging in the tank would be a big plus.

Can you spell boob. But a learning boob.Doing 50% water changes every other day, adding API Stress Zyme, and API ammo lock with each change it appears to be helping. Don't have any bio balls, media or substrate left so loks like I'm left to my water changes. Hey thanks for the help everyone.
