I am running a homeade wet/dry on a 30 gal and its doing a good job with the biological filteration, but the water is still cloudy. All I have in there are 1 gal of small bio balls, and some filter sponge. What can I add to get the water crystal clear?

Thanks

Mike

UV, if you want to spend the money

Adding the correct bacteria for filtration can make water clear as glass. I keep bottles of different kinds of tank bacteria. You can buy it to eat amonia, nitrates, nitrites and phosphates too. Try to buy the dry powder type. It lasts for ever on the shelf.

I have a 180 set up with 3 Oscars and IM Using a 300 wet/dry onit with a 1200 gph pump. In the sump Im running a Diatom Xl. Usually run it a few hours every couple of days. They make 2 sizes of Diatoms. Small and large. The small one runs @ $100.00 or so. They are really good for clearing the water. Kelly
