Hi,

'm using melafix on my 2 datnoid which have injured eyes :(
think they were inflicted by my arowana :(
I've added melafix yesterday according to instruction. but the nstrucion says to repeat same dosage today? shuld i use same dosage? i'm worried regading overdose.
i changed 50% water and added half dose, will this do?
btw yesterday all my feeders died when i dosed with melafix. also lots of planaria dead on the tank floor as well.

thanks.

Pretty tough to overdose on Melafix. I use recommended dosage until symptoms clear.

Recomended dose for 7 days then water change.

You should do a water change every 7 days anyway. LOL

The feeders died because your suposed to use a reduced dose for small fish or scaleless fish.... don't worry about them, worry about your dats.

Use the recommended dosage over a course of 7 days( X amount per day) then do a 25% water change and start the dosage again if they haven't healed.

I would also recommend bumping your temp up slightly and adding the recommended dosage of salt.

You could also leave your lights off for longer to reduce stress which may help them heal quicker.

Not sure if you should feed them differently during this time or not, someone else will have to inform you...

Don't forget to remove any carbon from your tank/filter too

I swear by melafix/higher temps and salt for healing! I recently had a smaller pleco who had the cr*p beatin out of him by two larger ones :( he was floating, fins ripped to shreads and skin missing down his back.... 2 weeks in quarentine with what i've mentioned and he's 100%! but not going back in till he's stronger and bigger.

thanks!
i'm more worried about overdosing my super red arowana :)
thanks i'll follow recommended dosage and increae water temp :)
