OK.. i know this is a shot in the dark, I have no way of posting pictures. I have cichlids, the problem is that one of my fish is sitting on the bottom, seems to be bloated and has lost almost all of his color. If im correct it is a male Joni. Anyone know what this might be and how to treat it?

Johanii? What did you feed your fish? How often? What else are in your tank? Water parameters? Size of tank? If you are referring to mbunas, mbunas will suffer bloat if fed with foods containing high protein content. Bloodworms are often the leading cause of bloat and are best avoided. Feed your fish on high fiber diet instead of rich meaty foods.

Bloat may also be the result of deteriorating water conditions, damaged internal organs or improper acclimation process resulting in the fish's shock from sudden changes of water conditions.
