Ok i checked on my retic this morning and he looked fine. just about 5 minutes ago I checked on him again and he looks like he is rotting. all around the edge of him and in the center is all white and shriveled... I need help asap because I really don't want to lose him. I just got him last tuesday. any help would really be appreciated

I might just be overreacting and he is just stressed so he is producing alot of slime but I need to know what is wrong with him and how to fix it if thats not the case

That would be my guess. It does not take much for a heater to leave a nasty mark on a ray.
My gut would have said something either bacterial or fungal. But judging by the fact that it was fine in the morning and the pictures show an exposed heater,

I just can't beleive heater burn because all around the sides of the ray it looks like hes rotting. his skin is peeling off and he is white all around. the mark on the top of him might be a burn, but the edges of him look rotted
no he was flawless from the day after I got him til this morning. when I first got him his slime coat was kind of coming off and sand was sticking to him but the guy who worked at the fish store said that it was a common sign of stress
The excess slime coat is his body trying to defend from any pathogens entering the sore.
I am leaning tword heater burn on this one.
