SO does anyone know how often i should feed my 5 inch bass

What are you feeding him? High protein meals, probably once every 2 day's or so, flake and pellet food everyday. It depends on what you are feeding him, and the size of the tank.

30 gallon and 3 baby minnows every week

Need a bigger tank soon. By baby minnows, I'm assuming you probably mean a gambusia species, a 5" largemouth can easily eat a full grown one. I would feed em 3 full grown ones a week, but you might wanna think about feeding him a nightcrawler in place of the minnows once a week, and maybe also try some table shrimp.

In that small of a tank, I wouldn't feed him everyday. You really are gonna need a much larger tank pretty soon. Bass grow pretty fast until sexual maturity, and he'll probably be about a foot long then. Getting a 180 (or bigger) wouldn't be too big of an upgrade now.

that would probably be illegal, once you take it home it's yours to keep.
