I have a 500gallon pond and i want to get a UV sterilizer for it. I am on a budget so i was wondering would this work?

That all depends on what your going to use the sterilizer for. If it's just to help with green water then as long as you get a pump rated correctly for the wattage then it shouldn't be any problem. It will also help with controlling parasites. Get a 500gph pump to go along with it and you should be good to go.

Seems a bit over priced, but check your LFS,even chain stores. Their fish may suck but they don't raise the supplies. Keep looking.

nice clear water in ponds is usually nice and clear because of the beneficial bacteria that grows in it correct? so wouldn't putting a uv sterilizer just kill all that bacteria that makes it so clear. wouldn't barley straw and a good bio filter be best, and cheaper?
