So one of my new rays isn't eating. i tried trout worms and ghost shrimp.

today i tried to place the trout worms right on front of him. He didnt bother with it. so it crawled on top of him.

i tried to to move the worms. but one was able to crawl into the vent, behind the eye of stingray. Have anyone ever experience this?

so is anything bad gonna happen, if something get inside of the vent?

the worm thing is no big deal

the not eating thing is a sign that something is wrong

how long u had the ray?
has it eaten for u before?
what did the old owner feed?
tankmates?
tank size?
filtration?
water params?

and did you ever figure out what the white spots were

jeff, they are white debris, plastic debris. it hard to take off bc they are about the same size of the 3m sand.

i checked the water yesterday,

ammonia = 0
nitrate = 1-5 pm
nitrite = 0

i just got them Saturday night.

i got from a guy my brother knows. According to him, he had them for three weeks, and was feeding them trout worms, shrimp, and feeders.

Im gonna try some night crawler and red worms to see if he will eat it.
should i try frozen bloodworm?
would it be fine if try to feed it some fancy guppy, i breed them myself.

what happens to the worm after it swims inside the spiracle?

tank size and filtration is in my sig.
tank mate include five juvenile arowanas, a 5'' motoro, two 10'' motoro, and the ray that isnt eating.

If the worm never came out, good chance the ray ate it.

so they can eat worms, if it goes in the spiracle? that's pretty neat.

where is the plastic coming from and what is the reason he got rid of them so soon? also they sound big enough to eat full worms but try cutting them up pretty small and try a few different sizes. also try a variety of other foods like cut tilapia, cut shrimp, bloodworms, blackworms, pellots, krill, and just try to see what he will eat.

you could also put a divider up so the other fish and rays are not bothering him. im having to do the same thing to one of my weak eaters.

the plastic is from egg crates that i use as lids.

they seem to respond better to cut worms, so im gonna keep trying it.
