i am trying to take care of the algae in my outside pond and i dont want to use chemicals so i am trying to fing an algae eating fish or i think they have algae eating sharks but they need to be able to be out doors in the winter with the other fish its a 2000 gallon pond

You could do Chinese Hi Fin Banded Loaches.. I don't know what your winters are like though...

You could dose your pond with Potassium Permanganate, but it's not recommended for beginners, and is only recommended if you can block it from getting into your filters; as it will set the bio bugs off in you system.

But it will clear your water. For 2,000 gallons you would need 6 grams would be fine. 9 grams if you are medically treating the tank for aeromonas.
