I have a 55g show tank that has 3 holding acei thats about to spit i really dont want to setup a fry tank i was wondering if i pile some rocks in a corner were none of the fish can swim in there if the babys could surviver in there

Yea, you can have them survive in small rocks. I have had a couple survive in a 125 with predators. Two of them turned out to be pretty nice fish.

As ecoli stated, there will be tons of fish.

All African hold every 30-45 days

My red empress, yellow labs and peacocks hold every month.

That is alot of babies, at first your so excited and think it cool when fish hold. Nevertheless, after 6 months of this it gets old.

You could get some smaller rocks And make a small mound where no big fish can get into or
You can get a 6.00 sponge filter off of amazon and a
10.00 10 gallon at walmart and grow all you want and sell them to lfs for 1.00 an inch if your lucky

Good luck

Most hobby African ppl keep the most colorful male at two inches and keep
Females..

Good luck

You could try building a large slate rock tower by spacing each of the slate rocks about a quarter to a half inch apart and siliconing them together and putting them in the corner of the tank...I wouldn't think larger cichlids would be able to get them if they hid in there...and you could maybe put a lot of plants around it to kinda block the view of it from the larger africans and create their own little territory
