Okay so while I was doimg tank maintenance this morning I left the filter cap off by accident and my rope fish decided to investigate the inside of my filter and impeller now his heads all chewed up and bloody but he is definitely still alive, what can I put in the tank to help him heal. Melafix? I honestly have no idea cause my fish have never gotten hurt before. I have him in a breeding trap for guppies and such atm. If anybody has any idea as to what I can do to help him please let me know...

I have brought a brim back to life... I definently suggest goinging out and buying a ten gallon with a cheap filter and using that as a hospital tank.

Id say if its chewed up and wiggling put it out of its misery, if its a flesh wound that isn't deep it may heal. Many people have rehabilitated seriously injured fish successfuly, but there's a point when its suffering.

Pics? Or I can't make a judgement

Ew... that sounds bad. I would definitely agree with a hospital tank, just maybe one a bit bigger if possible. I just had my blood parrots lip torn off by my turtle, but it still wasnt that bad. My blood parrot is getting better fast and I am just using API aquarium salt and API Quick Start w/ aloe. It is working wonders, but I am really not sure about a rope fish. I dont know anything about them, but I would figure that they would be about the same. How about some pictures?
