need help

i jus got a new catfish today at a pet store. at the store nobody knew what kind it is. i would post a pic but no camera. its about 2 inchs long a dark brown with the head of a flathead and a the tail of a bowfin. it also has a single dark line running from gill to tail. any help will be graetly appreciated
