Good tank mates for this guy would be crossed fingers, salt,higher then normal temp.-----------then after you see if its going to make it past the magic 2 week mark then some other characins.----this fish is notoriously hard to keep and developes fungus and ick really easily and dies quickly for most people. The are very easily stressed and that is what causes the death rate to be so high. Good water params are a must.This fish has gotten a nick name of 2week scomb through out the aquarium trade for a reason.
