Lfs had it listed as something "zebra" cichlid??? Doesn't look very zebra-ish to me...

Well it's an african cichlid for sure, but I only keep SA and CA cichlids so I don't know the species, it looks like it has a red eye which means its albino so it could still be a zebra but and albino zebra

Looks like an albino Metriaclima Greshakei. The genus Metriaclima has the zebra types, so the LFS was sort of right.

well it is a mbuna. That just means rock dwelling cichlid in this case. If you said albino red top zebra most people would know what you were talking about.
the guy above your post knows his stuff. There are a million and one common names for these fish but he is right on scientifically.
K. Now we've established what he is...anybody want the little a**hole?
