looks like a vieja hybrid

vieja for sure, i saw one look just like yours back in the lfs yesterday.
this thing has some huge teeth .. if i put my hand in the water it comes after me it also chews the pick up tubes in my tank.. odd part is it gets along with my flowerhorn . i did get them together so they grew up together.

Yes the Vieja breeds have sharp noticeable teeth. My large vieja synspilum had teeth that had bright red tips. Every time he bit me I would bleed. You definitely have a Vieja hybrid of some sort and he gets along with your flower horn because they grew up together and possibly because one is a male and the other is female.

and they would probably breed. let them be. lol

but looks cool

I thought my convicts would be ok in the tank with this guy until I found both convicts with a huge bite mark in them and they were at the bottom of the tank :( .. they grew up together . Think i should move my flower horn out of this tank? they seem to get along with an occasional tif here and there but never results in injuries.

no i think it might be male . it is always shaking its head and mouthing rocks, but my male flower horn does the same. and they both have their vents out when this is going on.
