Hey Guys!
I've been keeping my distance from the forum for a long time now since I had no new developments to write about.
I parted from my beautiful Indian native setup 3 months back since my parents wanted a single large cichlid. They insisted on a flowerhorn, but my mind was set on a Midas. .
Meanwhile I bought a pair of 1.5" Tiger Oscars to keep my lone 10" Pleco, company in my new 50 Galloner and thus buying more time for my Midas Quest.
But I have never seen a true Midas in India in all my years of fishkeeping. My long nationwide search from Mumbai to Delhi to Bengaluru to Chennai was absolutely futile.
Those handful of fishkeepers who claimed to sell a Midas were actually selling Red Devils or crossbreeds.
But it was today that I layed my eyes upon this 2" fader Jing Kang / Rainbow Flowerhorn ( I am not sure of his lineage ) in a nearby LFS and I gave up on the Midas for now. His vibrant fluorescent coloration compelled me to buy him, inspite of his poor body form and finnage. And so, I am back to Flowerhornkeeping.
Since he was in a set Malawi Cichlid Community tank and had no external sign of disease ( except badly torn finnage ), I quarantined him for only 10 hours before releasing him with the slightly larger and aggressive oscars who started bullying him immediately.
Sorry for the bad picture Quality. Will upload better pictures and videos later.
Meet Adolf ( Named after his moustache ) and provide an ID of his strain.
