Need ID on a couple fish

First one was sold as blue mahseer but doesn't look like it in my opinion. Rests on the bottom half the time and is aggressive towards its own species.

Second was sold as diamond barb, but looks more like a mahseer to me.

They aren't mahseer, neither of them, need better pics and collection locale

I have no idea where they were collected but I will try to get better pictures. They are really quick so it makes photos difficult

headbanger_jib do you have any guesses or suggestions on what the fish might be from the pictures posted?

Also do you have any pictures of small juvi mahseers so I know what to look for?

I'l catch them out and take pictures tomorrow as they are too fast to get a clear picture of.

Haha....and I guess I might as well add that mahseer are not characins and the fish in the photos do not look to be characins either.

Without proper location info, it's going to be very very hard to get the id.

There are way too many mahseer species, some of the common features would be, large scales, pointed snouts, cylindrical bodied.

Maybe Dolphin barb not Diamond barb???
