Recently purchased 2 acestrorhynchus Falcatus(red tail barracuda) and two acestrorhynchus falcirostris(yellowtail barracuda). I'm sure the yellows are right but I'm not so sure about the reds. The stripe down the middle is not something I've seen in any pics of red juveniles. anybody know what the red tail could be?

not falcatus or falcirorstris. pic on the left is ace islanae and pic on right is ace minimus. on the minimus its almost a clear/transparent body that is unique to that species. the islanae im about 90% on the i.d. it could grow out to be sumthing different. neither species grows larger than 6''. still great fish to keep.

Thanks. Looks about right. Any info on them? Not much about the minimus online other than size and tank requirements.

ive kept both for a short period of time. feed them rosies and guppies. minimus can take down feeders almost equal in size. they will clip the tail of the prey as they swallow it. very unique behavior amongst cudas.
