any one have blueprints or ideas for a diy tank separator ... i have a 60 gallon tank if that helps ..

home deopt, eggcrate light diffuser for drop ceilings

It depends what you trying to separate But the egg crate works well for larger fish.

Otherwise a thin piece of glass works well.

Also In the past I have used bulk netting similar to the green nets stretched over a pvc frame. Very cheap. But it catches leaves and things easily.

where did u purchase the netting ???

egg crate ftw... just cut it so it will fit in the tank and use sponges on either side to keep it in place.. just wedge the sponge between the egg crate and tank wall

I made one for a 75G with 1" PVC, tie wraps, and a light diffuser. All purchased at Home Depot.

I filled it with sand before I glued the end caps on. That gives it more weight than water fill.

I dropped it into the tank and buried the feet with gravel. No worry about big fish knocking it over. I was going to use suction cups, but after a while they loose their grip.

Not sure what the height is on a 60 gal, check your local hardware store for scrap plexi.18"x?
Thanks for the idea. Plexi glass works best so far...I tried the eggcrate thing that didn't work to well smaller fish still swam through. Plexiglass ftw
