Need Ideas for a new cichlid tank

I have just recently moved and had to give away my cichlids to a local pet store. I had a jack dempsey, 2 flowerhorns, tiger oscar, and a blood parrot. Anyway i'm setting up my 55 gallon again and I need some ideas.

I dont really want any crazy aggressive cichlids. Since they all seem to constantly have wars when they get about 4 to 6 months old.


I have never owned a Electric Blue Jack Dempsey though my roommate had one and I liked it a lot. I'm thinking about doing a tank with 2 EBJDs, a regular JD and a Green Terror.

What do you guys think?

Ive had bad experience with those guys. I'm pretty set on the EBJDs I just hope they survive. Looking for a few more that could get along with them
