I'm going to buy a spotted gar this week.so,can you help me with this?
I had an alligator and I sold it.
Is it the same tank conditions which I should provide my spotted gar as I did with my alligator gar?
And how frequently should I change water?
What is the minimum tank size for a baby spotted gar?

Yes same aquarium conditions change %50 every week stick to schedule. The minimum for a baby spotted would be no less then a 180 gallon but if you can get larger aquarium do so.

Lol.

Yes, they're both North American temperate fishes, with broadly similar husbandry requirements (other than the spot not requiring a pool long term). It's hard to say what size tank would be ideal for your new spot because I don't know how big it is, but the bigger the better. Gars don't turn particularly well and need room to maneuver.

I'll move this to the Gar section so you'll get some more concise information.

Like tlindsey tlindsey mentioned water changes weekly to bi-weekly. Depends on feeding and tankamtes if that's the plan.

180 and up for tank size would do well. Can get 2.5 to 3ft if planning to keep lifetime. Its been advised to get smaller tanks and go up in size accordingly as they will dart and crash into the tank and break spines. Just an FYI. Link below.

I

I'm going to buy one tommoro
May I suggest instead of getting the gar tomorrow maybe just get the tank, filter etc? Set the tank up, cycle it and then get the gar. That way you're less likely to have your little gar die from ammonia and/or nitrite poisoning. :)
