ok so i bought my 2-3inch pbass about 2 weeks ago and have tried to feed him everything from bloobworms( thats what the guy at the lfs said he was feeding him) mysis shrimp, beefheart, krill, pellits ect...he wont touch any of it so after about a week i threw in some feeder guppies about 15 of them. he ate them up in about 20 minutes all of them. i really want him to eat other things besides just live foods but he just wont take it.......what should i do and have i already created a MONSTER:nilly:

Read the article above in the sticky about converting from live food.

i think he is just fine with guppies specially since its still a small pbass. you dont want a small pbass to go days or weeks without eating because then you can stunt its growth. keep giving it guppies but drop one at a time. slowlw drop some shrimp or pellets and will eventually give in but i do not recomment you starving it because its still young.

thanks for the advice, today i thought i would try something new i bought 10 small crickets... he loves them

people told me on here that young pbass will most likely only eat live until they get bigger. but once you got your pbass to wait at the surface of the water to be fed, youre ready to start trying to convert him to prepared food.

I don't suggest crickets as they don't have enough nutritional value. I say keep with the feeders they will give you better growth rates and as long as you quarantine them, they shouldn't give you diseases.

crickets are fine.....

I feed them all to the baby bass before i get them to eat floating pellets.
