need info on giant gouramis

ok wel 2mrw im getting a giant gourami

4-5inches

i dont know what kind it is.. its silvery greyish in colour and looks nothing like a giant gourami yet lol

my questions are whats the growth rate like? and yes i kno the potential size ,just wana kno how fast they grow
and would it be ok with my 9inch silver aro?
o also can someone give me some descriptions on the differant kinds so i kno what im getting?

they grow pretty quickly. Mine has put a couple inches on in a month or so.

I had him in with a black aro and he didnt bother the aro, but the aro laid him out a few times.

i think it all depends on what type it is as a freind of mine had one with a red tail very nice fish but a bit aggressive

im not sure about the rate of growth but they get HUGE! saw one in an LFS a few months ago at least 18 inches in length. and its width and girth were monster as well. This thing was big ugly and aggressive.

just pickd him up today hes only about 4inches, cost me $35 nz

i think its just a common grows into a big grey thing lol
