well currently looking for a resident for my emtpy 55gal tank and still trying to figure out what o put in it...kinda want to put some cudaz in it,,, i had a pike in the tank about a year ago, was my favorite fish only was that he was a shy fella always wanted to chill in cave,,, im looking for a fish that will house my tank like a champ or a little shoal of non-shy pikes or somthing,,, but wanting to get info on the orange pike,,, size and temperment mainly,,, also wanting to know how big the dwarf green pike gets anyways any input would be greatly appreciated

iN MY own expeience i've had the same orange pike for 5 years and i keep him in a 35 gallon and he is fine in it temp around 78-79 regular water changes and keeping up on filter cleanings is what has kept mine heathly and mine is not shy at all i have put my hand in the water before and he swims through my fingers he has a big appitight though i feed him krill shrimp live frogs and minnows and feeder fish from the lps i do recomned owning one but dont put it with tank mates i lost a tiger oscar becaUSE of him and almost lost a albino oscar too they are very aggresive
THX for the recomendation well i went to lfs today and they were all out of pikes so i picked up what was labeled as Ch.Trimaculatus AkA trimac still questioning whether it is a tru trimac or a FH but anyways i will be sure to pike up one of them orange pike next time they are in.
I don't think it would be a good idea to put a pike in with a trimac if it is a trimac. I don't think anything will live with a Trimac in a 55.
