I'm really considering a silver arrowana, baby at local store. I know how big they get, question is..... How fast????? Fish is probably around 7-8" now. Tank size for first year???? etc.... Thanks for any help!
John

They grow very fast. On average about an inch per month, some a little more some less. Figure in a year that aro will be around 20" and will need to be in at least a 180gallon (6' x 2' x 2') tank. Then with in 3 years after that it will need to be moved to an even larger tank.

growth rate is about an inch a month... i'd suggest not going for a small tank... plan big and ahead... it'll benefit u considerably in future... mininum 6 feet tank would be good... it'd be even greater if u could afford higher... cheers...

Silvers are the fastest growing in the arowana family...ive been told and from experience.

silvers can grow to 4 feet in length. they are also the most versatile jumpers. cover the huge tank well and u shud be good to go....
