well i just stumbled upon Vieja Zonatum and just want to know any info about them, idk like tank size, tank mates etc. cant seem to find any info about them from google and just wana know about these fish. also post any pics of your own, i sure would like to see them. thanks!

I owned a female, nastiest fish I ever owned. Relentlessly harassed any fish she was kept with that was similar her own size.

I picked one up several months ago from Ken Davis and it's a great fish. I have it in a 180 gallon with a 10" Jag, 10-11" Midas, 6.5-7" Buttikoferi, 6" Paratalapia Polleni and 7" Vieja Maculicauda. My Zonatus is 8" and more than holds his own in the tank. As far as a pecking order in the tank it would be in the top two or three. Anyway, they are great fish, very colorful, great personality but can be a bit aggressive.

To me that doesn't look like a zonatus.

I agree with modest man....IME yes they definitely hold their own and won't back down and can be very aggressive. I've also noticed that they seem to grow noticeably faster than any other vieja/paratheraps that i've kept.

certainly a great fish with beautiful colors and well worth keeping. :)
