Im picking up a new 240g this weekend. I really would like to try to grow out midas tank. Originally I wanted to pick up 6 fish at about 1" and let a pair develop.

Then I saw a post where a guy had a 265g tank filled with big male midas. Cant find the post again (any1 have the link?) I thought a tank of big male midas would be better than a pair in a 240. Am I setting my self up for a disater going that route?

I also find the lyonsi and trimacs to be beautiful but am afraid that would be a show down to the death.

I would start with 1-2" fish regardless of what route I go hoping to curb aggression by rasing them together.

Can anyone with knowledge or experience chime in to prevent me from learning leasons the hard way? Thankyou for reading

I currently have a Jag, Freddy, Festae and Argentea in a 300 and it's well.......teetering lol. You never know till you know but I believe I may be one large cichlid above my limit at 4.....

Every fish is different though. Mine were all grown up together except the jag
