I recently upgraded to a 180 and boy am I happy!!!

I am currently running an FX5 and 2 AC 110s on it. I have a 30 gallon wet dry that I haven't set up yet. I know for sure that I will run the wet dry, my question is, what should I run it with?

Thanks!

It really depends on your stocking list, for heavy stocking ie. things like plecs and other poop machines, keep them all going. even if you are lightly stocked, keep them going, the ACs are great for setting up emergency hospital or QT tanks or for helping to establish a new tank in the future. IMHO its always better to over filter.

I would say that my stocking is moderate. I have 6 datnoids size ranging from 7" to 13". I also have a 7" fei feng and a 14" aro.

I am always aiming for over filtration. The 30 gallon wet dry is rated for 300 gallons according to the seller but I doubt that.

I am thinking of sticking to the FX5 and the wet dry. Whacha guys think?

Sounds Good with the FX5 and the 30gal wet dry. Start off with that and see what the turn out is.

I'm not good with the turn out calculations but the FX5 is full to the rim of ceramic rings. Maybe that will lower the turn out?

On the wet dry, i think its a mag 12? I'll check later today. If it matters, I'm gonna fill up one chamber with bio balls and the other with scrubbies.

I'm an overfiltration nerd so I'd run them all.

I've done that too. Before I had the 180, I had a 100 gallon tank with the same stock and I run on it an FX5, 2 x AC110, and a 30 gallon wet dry. I'm not gonna do the same thing with the 180 since its so much bigger...

Also, 50% water changes every two weeks should be sufficient right?

The Dat's are not that messy of eaters, The arow are cleanes as well, and the flag would just eat the rest of the food the other won't eat. Bio load is more of the concern. 30gal of bio and the FX5 full of bio, you'll be good.

well if you had a 100 with the same filters why are you cutting down the filtration for a larger tank?
