I saw these two 16"/17" monos at my LFS and I fell in love with this pair! I have them on hold and will picking them up this Saturday.

I would like your opinions please (good or bad). Do they look wild caught?.....etc.... Thank you.

imo they have nice shape and decent pattern. But theyre missing the most stunning key feature of a mono, and thats the vibrant red plevic and anal fins (sometimes belly)

x2 I think they're decent....and op imo there's nothing wrong with a nice pure mono they're harder to find than cb kelberi or rm orino

Looks like two males, unless you don't have a pic of the female. They're nice looking and appear healthy. Kind of odd that they don't have the red coloration as noted previously. How much you paying? I wouldn't want to over pay for captive bred Monos.

Thanx for all the comments. One is female (can see the tube sticking out) and has a much smaller "hump" than the male. As far as coloration goes, I am hopeful that it will/may kick in once in my tank. This pair have been at the LFS for 4 months and I think they may be washed out. $60 for BOTH, so $30 EACH. I am getting this pair either way, just wanted some input as I have never owned monos.

Anyone here think they may be wild caught?

X2 pure Monos are the fecal! Real hard to find these days.

They should color up as they settle, with good water, and massivore with a little Vitachem. Hard to tell right now if we "think" they're wc with the color muted.
