Need lighting ideas

So my old school lights finally kicked the bucket. Haven't purchased lighting in 10yrs. Need some ideas for some very bright led lights looking to get that shimmering affect and also something that will make the colors pop. Tank is a 300 long 8x30x24 glass. Looking for 36" lights that I can configure as needed. Not trying to spend my sons college fund either. Any suggestions? Also the DIY lights off of YouTube, has anyone tried this? If so how did it work out

lots of people here use beamworks lighting, I use ebay fixtures I bought a few years ago.

I went with beamswork leds. I didn't want something overly bright but good enough to light my 220. This is how it looks.

Yup go with beamswork. Get two of their hi-lumen 120 models with the beamswork timers and you won't be disappointed

To get shimmering water you want pendant lights. As far as I know that's just Aquatic Life and Kessil pendants. Neither are cheap.
