Need Midevil ID!

Hi guys,

Recently decided I was going to pick up the ugliest Midevil at my local fish store and give him a good home. Hes approximately 4in and named Frankenstein. Anyways, they told me he may be a "barred Midas" - which you can kinda see some bars in the last pic (changes upon mood). Will the darker coloration fade in time? I think what they call a fading process? Or is he likely to be similar to this when he gets to full size? All and any input is appreciated. Thanks guys!

Looks just like a speckled up midevil to me. Bars are a lot more noticeable in juvie barred midas.

Well I got this guy at 4-5in so won't know for sure. Do you think the darker speckles will stay or fade?

Nice pick up! Yes, the fish will eventually fade/peel to an orange color (it has already begun the process). As for its final coloration, there's no way of knowing at this point. Some stay orange, others fade additionally to a white/piebald color. Either way, should be a nice fish.

Thanks, great to know. I thought it may fade similar to some FH, and that it would awesome to take a fish that no one wanted and watch him grow into something really nice.
