So I've had the typical retail python for years and years and it's been great. I want to make a new water fill'r up'r to speed up the process. I never drain the tank water to the sink (huge waste of tap water), always out a window or door. I use the python for re-fills right from my tap.

The ID is 1/2" and now that I am dealing with 135g and 300g tanks I need to speed up the process! It's like paint drying right now. I have a short 5/8 piece of tubing I use for smaller individual tanks to do 5-10g at a time and it must be twice as fast (not bothering to do the math).

Are there garden hoses that you use and consider aquarium safe? I mean, I've drank from garden hoses my whole life and I turned out fine (twitch, twitch lol).

I need a long length due to the nearest water tap from where the 300g is. Don't want any junctions if I can avoid it (leak points). Just want to put the adapter on the sink, screw on the hose, and refill. Won't even use the python tap adapter that has the bottom nozzle you screw in or out to control water direction (no more water spraying up the wall when I forget to drape a cloth over it!) Obviously I'll use the same hose for draining.

The clear hose I find in the hardware store that I currently use is soft walled and kinks too easily. Every little kink decreases my flow. I like the idea of stiff-walled garden hose.

What do you all think?

You want a "food grade" hose. Check around with some local hose supply places and restaurant equipment supply places. They're needed in food prep industry, so not hard to find, but not going to be at "Home Depot".

Garden hoses have chemicals that can leach out in warm water, not so much with cold. If you've ever taken a drink out of a warm garden hose and noticed the taste, thats what it was.
