middle of nowhere
Hello everyone,
I have just setup my 140 gallon aquarium and wanted a more or less peaceful tank.. i was hoping to put in a couple of Oscars a big bala, clown knife, pleco, couple scavenger catfish and maybe a peacock bass. but as of right now i have an australian arowana 6" that is not in the tank yet ( bala shark 6" , small oscar and pleco in the tank currently) but i have heard many bad things about aust. arowanas i was wondering if i should take the risk of a peaceful tank for a nice fish or just settle with a silver arowana. opinions please MFK community

**oscars clown knife will be small hope fully around 4" dont want to start with masive fish

thats why i was hoping to start small so that i can keep them for at least an year or so... hopefully by that time i will have a bigger tank.

but what do you think about Australian arowana?

If you happen to have a jardini, jardinis tend to snap and it is not surprising they become nasty as they reach 8 inches mark and above. Don't risk it. A few people have been lucky but I prefer not to risk the other fish. Silver arowanas will need longer tanks. A 140g will not house one adequately.

What if you don"t?

that would be a super responsible and mature thing to do. i would respect an individual who could man up and say, '' u know what these fish deserve better ''
